Founded by Harry Sirkin in 1925 in Jamaica, New York, Sirkin Enterprises has been building and developing land subdivisions, homes, offices, hotels, apartments, shopping centers, multi-use properties and agricultural lands. Sirkin Enterprises, a family owned construction and real estate business, and is composed of several operating companies now being managed by Alan Sirkin, who is a certified general contractor, licensed Realtor and licensed professional engineer.

Alan has served as a construction, commercial and real estate arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association since 1978 and is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida  as a court appointed mediator. He has arbitrated hundreds of cases.

Mr. Sirkin is the past chair of the University of Miami’s College of Engineering Industry Advisory Board for Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering and chair of the Dean’s External Advisory Board. He has received awards from UM and Georgia Tech and participated in structural research projects at UM’s CoE. He has lectured on construction at Harvard University, Georgia Tech and University of Miami. He is a life member and Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineering, a member of the Florida Engineering Society,and has authored several engineering Journal articles. Mr. Sirkin has been a Director and Committee Chair with the Builders Association of South Florida and the Sierra Club. He graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1967 and from Georgia Institute of Technology with a M.S. in Civil Engineering with a specialty in Construction Management in 1969. He also attended New York University’s Real Estate Institute and its Management Program.

Mr. Sirkin was selected as the 2019 Alumni of Distinction for the University of Miami’s College of Engineering. He serves as a Board Member of the University of Miami’s Construction Management Program. He is listed in the 2020 Edition of Who’s Who in American Professional Engineering. Mr. Sirkin has been President and Board member of two Condominium Associations. He is active as a manager and developer of residential and commercial properties. He continues to enroll in continuing education from the Board of Realtors, Board of Engineering, General Contractors license and American Arbitration Association. For fourteen years he was appointed by the Miami-Dade County Commission as a member and then Chair of the Miami-Dade County’s Environmental Control Board.
